Our lab offers a full range of reliable, accurate microbial testing using 3M Petrifilm and Real-Time Polymerase Chain-Reaction (qPCR) technology. Specimens must be accurately tested for various reasons; most notably because the same ideal cultivation conditions can also be ideal for the germination of microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. Otherwise, consumers seeking wellness products can be consuming items contaminated with a variety of harmful pathogens, which can lead to serious illness and health complications.  In turn, this testing provides everyone with peace of mind.

Terpenoid Profile



Our lab utilizes advanced technology to analyze hydrocarbons because it is paramount to understanding and providing consumers with the right product for their needs.  Our technicians test hydrocarbon (terpene) content because we understand that every strain has a unique fingerprint. For this reason, we use high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) to quantify cannabinoids and gas chromatography with flame ionized detection (GC-FID) and mass spectrometry (GCMS) to separate and quantify nearly 30 commonly found terpenes.

Pesticide Analysis



Our pesticide test can detect trace amounts of chemical pesticides in dried flowers and concentrates. Our lab analyzes pesticides using High Performance Liquid Chromatography in tandem with Triple-Quadrupole Mass Spectromotry (HPLC-MS/MS) to identify and quantify trace pesticide, fungicide and PGR residues. At our lab, we believe that every consumer should be able to verify the safety of their medicine and other products. Our comprehensive screening is designed to produce rapid results and is consistent with EPA, ELAP, and international testing standards.

Foreign Materials



Our lab uses the latest moisture analyzing equipment and reliable methodologies to accurately and dependably assess the moisture content found. Several measurements are extracted on cured flowers to determine the water concentration. Moisture residue is affected by how it is dried and cured. In turn, our lab follows and ensures the best practices for processing and storing as well as managing moisture control during the drying process in order to ensure that the product is safe and effective. In general, flowers that have been dried should be lowered to a safe 15% or less in order for it to be used for medicinal purposes.

Residual Solvent Analysis

Our Residual Solvent Test (RST) identifies the presence of harmful solvents, impurities, and/or other added odorants and chemicals present in concentrated forms. These types of concentrates are produced by using a solvent (such as butane, CO2, ethanol or propane) to extract cannabinoids and terpenoids from plant material. Finally, and to ensure accuracy, heat, vacuum, and/or other methods are applied to purge any remaining solvent from the concentrate.

Although often viewed as a natural and safe medicine among patients, cannabis, just like other plants, can draw contaminants from the environment including bacteria, fungus, pesticides and heavy metals. Without uniform regulations, consumers have no way of knowing whether their products are laced with contaminates. We analyze our samples for silver, mercury, zinc, lead, cadmium, thallium, copper, cobalt, arsenic, antimony and 29 other metals utilizing advanced methods and procedures with Inductively Coupled Plasma technology to help accurately identify and quantify heavy metal toxicity. It is important to us that consumers know if their products contain safe levels of heavy metals.

Moisture Analysis



Our lab applies ultraviolet light, microscopic analyses and flotation techniques to isolate, identify and prevent potential filth matter in addition to other plant based tests ensuring the highest quality of testing the matter. The FDA defines filth as any kind of matter that should not be present in food or edible products, including rodent feces, insects, insect fragments, parasites, and other extraneous materials that may enter a product during processing and storing. Our laboratory screening process for filth matter and foreign material in products with the aforementioned analyses isolate and identify these potential health hazards. Flotation techniques are also utilized in our testing in order to isolate microscopic filth such as rodent hairs, insect parts, insect eggs, and mites that may contaminate other agricultural crops.

Mycotoxin Analysis



Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to identify and quantify traces of mycotoxins ensuring that products are contaminant and mycotoxin free.  Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites that are produced by naturally occurring molds and fungus—living organisms which decompose organic matter. In the context of medical marijuana and its safety to patients and providers, mycotoxin testing is of vital importance. Mycotoxins can be extremely toxic to humans, particularly in circumstances involving long-term exposure.
